The story of Boerderij Friet
Boerderij Friet starts in the fields, among the potato ridges on Zeeuws-Vlaamse clay soil. Soil that we have been working on for generations, where you learn to observe the weather, the earth, and the crop.
We saw how much attention went into each harvest. How carefully our potatoes grew on Zeeuws-Vlaamse clay soil. That deserved a fitting destination. That’s why we decided to take matters into our own hands. We brought machines into the barn, started cutting ourselves, and delivered fresh fries directly to people in the area. Initially cautiously, later with increasing confidence. What started small has grown into fries now served at countless hospitality venues across the Benelux.
It is our heritage that has been passed down through five generations and which we proudly continue. Everyone has their own place, their own responsibility, and at the same time, we carry the whole together. This way of working is deeply ingrained. You see it in how we make choices, how we interact with customers, and how we keep returning to the basics. To the ground where everything begins. To the potato that can grow peacefully because the clay gives it time. And to the realization that quality does not arise from haste, but from attention.
We make fries the way we believe they should be made. With potatoes we know, with processes we understand, and with choices we stand behind. That’s why we keep everything in our own hands: from cultivation and storage to cutting and pre-frying. We work with a single potato variety, without additives, and supply kitchens that value consistency and quality.
Growing is in our heart
Agriculture in the family. The knowledge of the land has been passed down from generation to generation and has evolved with its time.
Shelf life of our pre-fried fries. Due to the rapid cooling after pre-frying, the product stays fresh for a longer time.
From unwashed potato to freshly pre-fried in the bag. It's a short chain with few detours.
